Scrap Nite - NOT

Attended our weekly get together at http://www.craftden.co.uk/ last night, it's supposed to be a ..... well I'm not sure what we are supposed to do, but I'll tell you something for nothing, we never know what we are doing, but always end up with something which surprises us. Last night was no different, doesn't matter how loud we shout, how much we laugh, how much we think we know better than the tutor, we had a darn good night and managed to come up with these stunning pieces of art. Apparently I describe most things as stunning - it's amazing what your so called friends tell you - who needs enemies with friends like this mottley crew. I tried to photo the culprits, but guesss what - they couldn't face up to having their anonimity (is that how you spell it?) revealed, but managed to get these two as they were trying to get away!!!!! I will not put names to faces, but they know who they are ;)

ATC's

Decided to make some ATCs and a box to hold them in. I've never made an ATC until this week and am enjoying doing them. This project is still a work in progress, and haven't decided what colour scheme to use, so tried dark and lights.

We are going to make this at Craft Den, so why not visit Lynne at http://www.craftden.co.uk/
see a list of all current classes and other exciting projects planned for the future.

Canvas

Decided to have another go at a canvas. Went to Dunelm and bought a cheap, very cheap, canvas, coated with a generous amount of gesso using an old credit card, leaving some thick parts then painted with Claudine Hellmuth acrylic paints. Used various colours of alcohol inks onto glossy card, stamped and mounted onto memory glass and frames. Painted stampboard and Ranger fragments with alcohol inks then stamped. Cut out two heart shapes from aluminium sheets and again used alcohol inks to paint. Added some rafia and then mounted all onto the canvas.

Gift from a friend

Here are two ATC's which my friend Sandy Poppins made for me. Aren't they fantastic. She said that they reminded her of us. She is so clever and creative. I shall have to think of a good one to make for her in return. Watch out Sandy.............lol

Altered Picture Frame

Went to The Craft Box http://www.thecraftbox.biz/ on Friday night to make an altered picture frame with tags behind, not finished mine (as per usual), so can't show the inside yet. We had a wicked night, lots of laughter, swearing, and frustration, oh and some biscuits. Sandy took the class and I'm not sure who was more frustrated her or us. She nearly gave up on us all.
Lesley with the heart she had triple embossed and then over stamped.

Gill & Helen

Angela and Lynn, who wins the prize for the best cleavage?

Sue (from Craftwork Cards) joined us and she began to wonder what she'd left herself in for... She didn't think that ladies swore, but then she had not met us before. First Virgina, who's not sure what she's supposed to be doing, then Helen, then me, got it wrong. We kept going though, nothing was going to defeat us.

Ann Marie is looking a bit serious, don't think she could believe what she was hearing! Here's Sandra giving me a hug, or was that she was really trying to strangle me!!!!

Sandra being really fed up with us all, I think by this time she'd given up and decided to let us do whatever we wanted.

I think everyone enjoyed themselves and went away with a great project.

Journal Page

This is the latest journal page I have completed. I used Claudine Hellmuth paints, which I think are fantastic, then I used one of the new Adirondack embossing pads in Spiced Marmalade and embossed a Shakespeare text. I printed off an old advert for Dorma sheets and aged it with distressing inks. The birds are flying over the advert and if you can managed to read my naughty journaling you will know why - sorry about the language.
